About
LRW Civil Designs was established in the small West Sussex city of Chichester in 2013 by Louis Weller, who has been based in the city all of his life. A passion for technical drawing lead Louis to study for his Civil Engineering Qualifications which he completed in 2007 at Southampton University.
Being a small company has allowed us to deliver a personal and efficient service to our clients with highly competitive prices. Having worked on numerous schemes in both the private and public sector we have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience within the Civil Engineering Industry. We have been providing design services for a number of different clients since 2013.
What we do....
Planning
We can help to assist in clearing planning conditions to secure planning approval with regards to drainage, flooding and highway matters.
We can also arrange for any necessary testing required such as soakage testing and can provide any necessary design work to include preparation of drawings and calculations which can be prepared as a report to satisfy the planning requirements.
Flood Risk Assessment
Providing Flood Risk Assessments for any scale development in accordance with the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), Local Authority requirements and Ciria C697.
External Works and Levels design
We can carry out both the vertical and horizontal design of a site. This includes for the setting of finished floor levels, external levels, pavement construction both porous and non porous and external finishes. Details and specifications can be provided as part of the detail design stage or for Tendering purposes.
Drainage Design
Using the latest design and modelling software we can provide robust drainage designs for developments whilst adopting the most recent techniques from the SuDS manual (sustainable drainage systems).
With the drainage environment continuously changing to combat flooding. We have the necessary experience to carry out a drainage design to meet requirements whilst providing a cost-effective solution.
Our designs will meet the criteria set out in Ciria C753, Building Regulations Document H and Sewers for Adoption 6th or 7th Edition.
Highway Design
Utilising our 3D modelling software, we are able to generate horizontal and vertical alignments for Highway Designs, complex junctions and associated earthworks.
Highway drainage can also be incorporated into the Highway design model. This allows us to produce detailed designs which can be scheduled for ease of approval or adoption and construction on site.

Undertake any correspondence required with the respective water authorities to ensure all drainage agreements are adhered to which include:

Highway Agreements
Ensuring our highway designs are designed to adoptable standards so that they can be adopted by the respective Highway Authority under the Section 38/278 Agreements.
Construction Supervision
Our services are customized to meet the specific needs of each client. As well as working collaboratively throughout the entire process from feasibility study to Detail Design. We offer a site supervision service to ensure the construction phase of the project runs smoothly and the build is as per building regulations and design drawings.
